RVP set for Arsenal move?
Reports from Italy suggest Manchester United striker Robin van Persie could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer. However, there are differences in opinion as to where he will end up.
Sky Italia reported on Friday that the Dutchman’s agent has already had talks with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger about a return to the Emirates just two seasons after he left the North London side. United would want as much as possible of the £24million they paid Arsenal for van Persie although the Gunners would baulk at paying such a high fee for a player aged over 30.
Italian newspaper Sussidiario has a different take. It claims Milan will sell Mario Balotelli to Arsenal for 37million euro (£32million) and will buy van Persie for 30million euro (£25million). However, the paper adds that van Persie’s wages, which are estimated a at £180,000 a week are too high for any Italian club to afford.
